
SPRINGFIELD, ILL. - The University of Findlay wrestling team concluded the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Cliff Keen National Duals on Sunday, Jan. 13 in Springfield, Ill. The #8 Roughnecks lost both of their matches on the second day of competition as they concluded the event with a record of 2-3, finishing eighth out of 16 teams.
On Sunday, the Roughnecks were defeated 19-15 by fifth-ranked Upper Iowa and also dropped a 19-12 decision to #20 Kutztown.
Adam Walters, the top-ranked wrestler in the nation in the 184-pound weight class, went 2-0 on Sunday to finish the meet with a 5-0 record. He claimed a 7-3 win over Brock Gobin of Upper Iowa and then concluded the event with a 4-3 victory against Kutztown's Giovanni Ortiz.
