Toledo firefighter crashes into candy store

A Toledo firefighter was sent to the hospital after an overnight crash that involved a Toledo candy store.

Boyd's Retro Candy was damaged when an SUV driven by Todd Steele smashed into a traffic island in front of the store on Sylvania Ave.

The vehicle hit a monument, which flew across the road and smashed into an archway on the candy shop.

At this time, police aren't exactly sure what caused Steel to miss the turn. Police say he was alert at the scene and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
