Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) will use MIS Sciences Corporation’s eAlert® notification system to provide commuters attending the 57th Presidential Inauguration with traffic updates and news.

Burbank, CA (PRWEB) January 16, 2013

MIS Sciences Corporation’s eAlert® notification system, used by transportation authorities throughout the country, including Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) in Washington, D.C., will be an integral part of the 57th Presidential Inauguration to take place on Monday, January 21. The multi-lingual system will provide hundreds of thousands of commuters who plan to attend the ceremony with real-time information about traffic, public transportation and news updates.

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA Maryland), which also uses eAlert®, is partnering with WMATA to ensure that the public will have a positive experience while traveling to and from the inauguration.

The public is being asked to purchase their WMATA tickets ahead of time. To accommodate the extra traffic and to notify everyone about the latest developments, including stations that will be closed on the day of the inauguration and scheduling changes, WMATA is encouraging people to sign up for eAlert® at http://www.wmata.com/inauguration.

The eAlert® notification system can also deliver emergency notices, meeting announcements, utility and tax bills, parks and recreation event notices, and more. It provides residents full control of the content they receive, how it’s delivered, and to which devices, whether it’s office email, personal email, or voice mail to a work or cell phone. The information can also be sent via RSS feeds to populate websites and message boards.

eAlert®, a service of MIS Sciences Corporation, located in Burbank, CA, has come to dominate alert services in public transit. It is also used by New Jersey Transit, New York’s MTA, Boston’s MBTA, and others. Further information can be obtained at http://www.ealert.com.
