13abc is getting you
connected to Lucas County Children Services. A few weeks ago, the agency put
out a call for foster parents. There are currently 24 babies in non-agency
foster homes, which cost the agency three times as much.
Today they are looking for
potential foster homes for babies. Agency officials say, if you have a job,
they will help you with daycare costs.
"We
understand that families work, but they want to help out," says Foster Care and
Adoption Recruiter Celine Woods. "They hesitate, but we want to reassure them
we have the daycare support, so that is key. And we are always there 24/7. If
something happens in the middle of the night, they can call us and get that
supportive direction."
If
you are interested in being a foster parent, tonight is your chance to call and
get answers to any questions you have from representatives with Lucas County
Children Services.
The
number to call is 419-534-3838 between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
