It has been another long day at the bargaining table for negotiators trying to avoid a walkout by faculty at Edinboro and other state-owned universities. The talks began this morning and were continuing late this afternoon.
A union spokesman described the talks as fluid but difficult.
The two sides have already reached agreement on many issues. But they say health care costs for current faculty members and retirees remains a major roadblock to a new deal.
The two sides have been trying to work out a contract for 2 years. Members of the faculty union have voted to authorize a strike if no deal can be reached.
