BG story owner facing federal weapons charges

A Bowling Green sports memorabilia store owner is facing more charges. A federal grand jury indicted Richard Schmidt Wednesday on four charges ranging from weapons violations to trafficking in counterfeit goods.

Federal agents raided Spindletop Sports Zone in December at the BG mall. 

Schmidt was ordered not to posses any weapons after a manslaughter conviction in Lucas County in 1990.

Federal agents found 18 weapons, over 40,000 rounds of ammunition and body armor during their raid.

A court date for Schmidt has not been set.
