McKean Township, PA - A Greyhound Bus crash on I-90 injured eleven people in a Thursday morning accident along the eastbound lane in McKean Township. The bus reportedly ran into the back of a flat bed carrying construction supplies. The Greyhound driver was trapped for close to an hour before rescue crews could free him. Ten other people were treated for what is described as mostly minor injures. There were twenty seven people total on board when the accident happened just after 7 a.m.
Hazmat crews along with several fire departments responded to the scene. Many of the occupants on the bus were walking around as crews took about an hour, to pull the 48-year-old driver from his seat. The windshield of the bus was taken off, and there's damage to the vehicle. State Police are still investigating the circumstances.
The bus was carrying 27 people and those not treated were taken to a warm shelter to wait until a back up bus could pick them up. The Greyhound started its route in Cleveland earlier in the morning.
