Sherrod Brown speaking in Toledo Friday

Nearly 5,000 people in Lucas County are eligible for payments and loan modifications.

Experts say the increase in foreclosures have been responsible for the slow housing market recovery.

Last week, federal regulators and lenders reached an agreement to address the large number of unlawful foreclosures.

Brown is calling on federal regulators to try and prevent financial companies from taking tax deductions as part of their legal settlements.

Senator Brown will be speaking Friday morning around 10:45 at the Advocates For Basic Legal Equality building that's at 525 Jefferson Avenue in Toledo
