Semi rollover accident closes Turnpike

Eastbound lanes of the turnpike near exit 59 in Maumee were closed early Saturday morning, after a semi crossed the median and flipped over.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. State troopers say a tractor-trailer was heading west when the driver lost control and veered onto the eastbound lanes. That semi hit a guardrail and flipped.A car heading in the opposite direction then rammed into the semi's trailer.

The driver of the car involved in the accident went to the hospital with injuries that are said to be non-life threatening. The driver of the semi was not severely hurt, and did not seek medical treatment.
