Erie and Millcreek police officers cooperated on the arrest of a man wanted on drug warrants, and now say the man they picked up will be charged with the January 11 robbery of a Millcreek bank as well.
Late Saturday afternoon, Erie police picked up 29 year old Martin A. Mitchell. They made the arrest at the Knight's Inn at 10th and Sassafras Street, where Mitchell has been living. Millcreek police officers transported the suspect to their headquarters for processing.
They say Mitchell is facing charges for possession of heroin and other drug paraphernalia. He will be arraigned on those charges Sunday morning. Authorities say they plan to charge him with the hold up of the First National Bank at 2765 West 8th Street earlier this month. In that hold up, the suspect claimed to be armed with a bomb.
