Owners of two local businesses are deciding what's next after a devastating fire this weekend.
Dr. Kevin Sambuchino wasn't prepared for what he saw Sunday morning.
He assumed there would be a little fire damage to his Peach Street office, but he didn't expect to see a skeleton of his former practice.
The Lake Erie Dental office housed Sambuchino and Psychiatrist Dr. Richard Spector. The two still have plans to accommodate patients within a week of the fire.
"The important thing is taking care of the patients and to keep things running," said Sambuchino. He said all of his patient's records are backed up on computers outside of the office.
"We're open for business we've got a temporary location," said Spector. "We intend to continue what we're committed to doing, which is taking care of the people we care about."
The damage to the Station Dinner Theatre is only a scratch compared to the complete destruction next door. Repairs were already in swing just 24 hours after the blaze.
"The theater portion and the kitchen and everything are still intact, there's not a problem there," said owner Paul Urbanowicz.
As is the tradition of theater, he said the show must go on. "It's still kind of early, but everything's still planning to go on as scheduled," said Urbanowicz. He expects to be open for the February 9th start of the show season.
The doctors are optimistic too, even though their task isn't such a quick fix.
"Good things happen bad things happen, but we can get through this," said Spector.
Sambuchino agreed. "You get home and you realize you have your family... you just keep on going."
Lake Erie Dental patients can call the main office number at 864-7511 to reschedule. Dr. Sambuchino will temporarily see patients at the office of Dr. Mark Minichelli.
Dr. Spector's patients can call 868-8505. He'll be seeing patients at Homewood Suites, on Interchange Road.
