To you our recent snowstorm has meant slow going on the roads and a sore back from shoveling the walk.
But for area snow plow drivers, the recent storm has been, literally, a blessing from heaven.
You'll also excuse local plow drivers for being a little tired; many small independent contractors have worked 48 or 72 hours straight keeping customers' parking lots clear.
"We keep crews going 24 hours just to keep up with the snow," Adam Gerlach of Gerlach Landscaping told us. "Going back to the lots and redoing them over and over again."
Drivers tell us that while they appreciate the business given the mild weather over the past two seasons, it will be nice to get a break, not only to get some sleep but to give the equipment a break too.
"It's hard, on the drivers and the plows," Gerlach explained.
City of Erie plow crews have moved to 12-hour shifts which allows the City to run trucks 24 hours a day.
Mayor Joe Sinnott is asking for patience as the drivers go through their routes.
"It's been kind of an extraordinary event and it's going to take a little time for us to get everything cleaned up."
The Mayor says to remember not only the driveway and parking lots but sidewalks too, to prevent people from walking into the street to get around snow mounds.
