Monroe father accused of abusing infant son

A one-month-old is clinging to life in Monroe County after deputies say the baby's teenage father shook the boy and hit his head against a kitchen counter.

It happened at the Frenchtown Villa Mobile Home Park in Newport.

The baby is said to have head injuries and broken ribs. He remains in critical condition.

Investigators have not released the name of the 18-year-old father, but they say felony charges are pending.
