NAPOLEON, Ohio -
Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for the western portion of the 13abc viewing area, including Fulton, Henry, Putnam, Allen, Williams, Defiance and Paulding Counties of Ohio, as well as Hillsdale, Branch, Calhoun and Jackson counties of Michigan. The advisories are in effect from late Sunday into very early Monday.
Snow and sleet will overspread the area on Sunday evening, from southwest to northeast. As temperatures steadily rise aloft, the snow will gradually change over entirely to sleet, with less than an inch of snow likely. By midnight, most of the area will likely see a sleet / freezing rain mix, and as warmer air continues to surge overhead, the sleet / freezing rain mix will gradually give way to a few hours of freezing rain. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice could accumulate during the overnight hours, making the pre-dawn driving conditions very hazardous, a few hours before the Monday morning commute. Temperatures will continue to rise, so by dawn on Monday, readings should be climbing above freezing, and conditions should begin to improve.
