BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -
Three nursing home residents were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after partial ceiling collapses at two area nursing homes on Sunday afternoon.
Both incidents happened around 3 p.m., one in Waterville and one in Bowling Green.
Two residents of Blakely Care Center on W. Poe Road in Bowling Green were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The B. G. Fire Department said a leaky pipe soaked insulation causing ceiling tiles to fall. A staff member at the facility said the problem was related to the weather. Fire officials say the care center has taken care of the issue that caused the problem.
A bad water pipe was also to blame for the ceiling collapse at Heartland of Waterville. A pipe burst, causing damage to the ceiling in one room. A resident was taken to the emergency room with minor injuries, but was back at Heartland by Sunday evening.
