Super Bowl XLVII may be one week away, but here in town on Sunday, it was one of Erie's favorites bowls.
Sunday marked Souper Bowl XV. Sixteen restaurants took place in the friendly soup competition, donating their time and making over 30 gallons of soup.
Around 2,000 people tested, then vote for their favorite soup. Organizers tell us they raised roughly $20,000 for the Sarah Reed's Children's Center.
"The real winner of the Souper Bowl is the Sarah Reed Children's Center, because all the money that's raised goes to help support activities of the center for the kids that we work with," said President/CEO of Sarah H. Reed Children's Center Jim Mando.
This year's winner was the Ambassador's Philly Steak Cheese soup.
