The Polish Falcons nest 123 was handing out checks Sunday. They presented donations to charities, churches and non-profits totaling $24 thousand dollars. The funds come from the proceeds of their small games of chance.
David Andrychowski, Nest 123 President said, "We're required by law to give a percentage of our earnings from gambling, we have 500 members and to give $24 thousand, I'm so proud of our members. They come and spend their hard earned money and it's just our way of giving back."
The nest selected 14 charities to support, among them special Olympics, local Polish congregations - St. Stans and Holy Trinity, the Boy Scouts and Wounded Warriors.
