It appears the local flu outbreak has hit it's peak, with fewer new cases now being reported.
Figures out today show that 90 new cases were reported to the Erie County Health Department last week. That is down from 160 new cases a couple of weeks ago.
However, experts say two strains of the flu are causing problems. So even if you already had the flu, it is possible you could get it again.
Charlotte Berringer, R.N. said, "Even if you had one flu, maybe you had flu-A, you could still potentially get flu-B. Or if you don't have vaccine and you think you are out of the woods because the numbers are going down, no, there is still ample disease circulating.
The outbreak seems to be easing all around our region. But it is getting worse in other parts of the country, especially the west coast.
