It was a big day on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville. The school officially opened it's new $4.6 million dining hall.
A ribbon cutting highlighted the ceremony at McKinney Commons in the center of the campus. The project was in the planning stages for several years. Construction took a little more than a year to complete.
The new facility features a much larger variety of food options than the old dining hall. And it's state-of-the-art design is energy efficient.
General Manager Dan O'Brien said, "Our light are on motor sensors. We have a composting system that reduces our water by 85%, about 1,000 gallons of water a week."
The facility has seats for 285, and is expected to become the hub of the campus.
