Members of the group "No New McDowell" are taking their efforts to a whole new level.
On Thursday, group member Lou Aliota announced that they are seeking an investigation against the Millcreek School District.
They are now sending a letter to the PA Department of Education with a list of demands.
"Number one, we are requesting through a citizens complaint, a public hearing," said Aliota. "The second, will be the comprehensive review, financial and organizational review of the school district."
The group is also hoping to change the state law on the amount of money that school board's can approve without the citizens vote.
"We're going to collaborate and ask our elected officials to address that issue so that we can amend the regulation throughout the commonwealth." said Aliota.
The group is hoping to have a bill within the next six months.
Tonight, we contacted Millcreek School Board President Terry Scutella for a response. Mr. Scutella tells us that he school board has done nothing wrong, and the state watches everything that they do.
