The roads were still covered with snow late into the evening on Thursday, and the winds were still gusty. Drivers out say the conditions were not ideal.
"Very slippery, and with wind gusts," said Dale Thomas of Waterford. "90 is definitely not a lot of fun, Sterrettania not fun either."
"Right now its pretty icy underneath," said Bob Heisler, of Waterford. "Even in 4-wheel drive you got to take it easy."
Even earlier on Thursday, the winter weather caused issues for drivers, too. Across the area, tree branches were knocked to the ground, block some of the roads.
On Interstate 90, drivers were stuck for sometime during the day when a Jack Knifed Trailer and two Semi Trucks collided. Justin Jarocinski, of Buffalo, was saw it all happen.
"We were just stuck for about an hour and a half," said Jarocinski. "We got some pretty good pictures, but other than it was pretty much one lane and 15 MPH all the way there."
Drivers said even though its not fun to drive in icy, white out conditions, they say its what they've come to expect this time of year.
