Local democrats Friday night were laying into Governor Tom Corbett's budget before he even had a chance to present it.
Bob Merski,City Councilman, and Bill Cole, Erie County Democratic Party Chairman, gave their thoughts on this year's budget.
Merski, who is also a teacher, said Corbett's decisions have hurt education. He even cautions the controversial selling of the liquor licenses. He says doing that would only be providing a short-term solution to funding educations.
"Once that money is gone, make no mistakes about it, the money's gone," said Merski. So if we sell those off, and use it for education for 3 years, once those liquor licenses are sold off, and that money is gone, we then go back to the mess we're at right now."
Gov. Corbett will be presenting his budget on Tuesday.
