Three Erie Teams Advance to State Academic Competition

After the regional Academic Decathlon, seven western PA teams are advancing to the state competition.  Three Erie area teams are among them.  The team from NW PA Collegiate Academy placed second, coming in after their top competitor, Moniteau High School from the Butler area.  Collegiate Academy's Samantha Galla was a big winner.  She tallied the top score overall at the regional competition.

Coming in third place at the decathlon, McDowell. They advance to states as well.  Villa and Prep, competing as Erie Cathedral Preparatory placed seventh, so they make the cut too.

The state competition takes place March 8 and 9 in State College.
