Erie PA - The Sight Center of Northwest PA has the keys to a brand new van thanks to the Ford Motor Company. The agency was one of dozens that applied through the Ford Friendship Express - a philanthropic program brought to the area by the Erie Ford Dealers. Organizations in need of transportation were given a chance to tell their story in hopes of receiving a new Ford vehicle.
"Its a huge honor," said Linda Hackshaw, CEO of the Sight Center of Northwest PA. "I was so grateful to the Ford dealers for giving us consideration, but I think the need is so obvious, it really is. There are lots of worthy organizations out there and a lot of people deserve to win it. I'm just really pleased that it was us."
Hacksaw said they have a fleet of a vehicles they use to help those with little or no sight live a normal life, and this new truck will really be helping them.
A selection committee made up of Ford Dealers reviewed the applications and selected one recipient.
