In just one week, the way customers use their Giant Eagle Advantage Cards will be changing.
Starting on February 13, shoppers at Giant Eagle will no longer be able to use their Advantage Card to gain foodperks!! at the pump.
Normally, customers would earn 1% off their grocery bill for every 10 gallons of gas they pumped at GetGo. Instead of the foodperks!, Advantage Card holders are now receiving an instant $0.03 of every gallon of gas they do not redeem their fuelperks! on. Giant Eagle is still continuing their fuelperks! program, giving customers $0.10 off for every $50 they spend in store.
In a release, Giant Eagle claims surveys showed not all customers like the structure of the foodperks! program. Customers we spoke to say they are fine with the changes.
"I'll let you know after I start it," said Veronica Roehrig of Warren. "Right now, I am, but after it works for a while, I'll see what a difference it makes in my home life."
"I don't think its going to have a big change for me," said Bonnie Billig of Harborcreek. "I mean, I take advantage of any perk they want to give."
If you currently have unused foodperks!, Giant Eagle will accept them until May 31. February 13 is the last to earn foodperks!.
