A local woman and her family are now calling on the community, to help raise funds for a liver transplant.
Becky Lawson was diagnosed with liver disease 15 years ago, and about 10 years ago, doctors said she would need a transplant.
Expenses in travel and medical bills have started to add up, so Lawson's family decided to hold a benefit to help. It will be on February 17th at the American Legion in North East from 1PM-5PM.
She is currently at the top of the list at the Cleveland Clinic for one. In fact, Lawson said she's already been called in for surgery once.
"We got as far as Girard and they canceled," said Lawson. "They said the liver wouldn't make it to Cleveland in time, so we have to cancel the surgery. So we're just waiting for that second phone call."
