Erie Police Chief Steve Franklin says that efforts to crack down on violent offenders is having an impact, saying that "We are winning the war on crime."
To back that up, the Chief and Mayor Joe Sinnott showed pictures of 56 people who have been arrested since mid October.
The people are all charged with serious crimes, robberies, burglaries and assaults.
"It shows you the level of crime in our society," Franklin told us.
The City has been releasing a report card to the community every three months or so to help alleviate fears over the level of violence on the street.
Police say those 56 arrests led to nabbing 13 guns as well.
