The annual Tartan Ball is a few weeks away, but members of Erie's Erepa Grotto Pipes and Drums are busy gearing up for the big night.
It's the 61st year for the event.
We caught up with them, as they practiced Thursday night.
The Tartan Ball is set for Saturday, March 2nd.
This is the 61st year for the event.
"It's a great night, it's really an exciting night." Said Drum Major Chuck Skopow. "It's a lot of practice, we practice twice a week in preparation for this the last couple months. So we get it right." Skopow added.
But it's not all just for entertainment, it benefits charities that help children with special needs. The Achievement Center in Erie, and Dentistry for Children with Special Needs.
"The band is of a Masonic nature, and it's in the nature of masons to look out for the fellow man and the community. So it's our way of giving back to the community and have fun while we do it too." Said Pipe Major DJ Flaherty.
The Tartan Ball is set for Saturday, March 2nd at 8:00 at Rainbow Gardens.
Tickets are $15.00 dollars, call 898-8265 or email Erepagrotto@gmail.com
