Saint John's Jesuit basketball coach
Ed Heintschel, who celebrated his 600th career win last month, is facing a
drunken driving charge.
Heintschel was pulled
over at the end of November for not using his turn signal and almost hitting
another vehicle. He registered 0.14 blood alcohol content.
A pretrial in the case
is scheduled for Tuesday. According to St.
John's principal Brad Bonham, Heintschel has been a
valued member of the faculty for over 30 years, serving as a teacher,
counselor, and basketball coach.
Bonham says the school is
standing behind Heintschel.
