Sean Wiley, PA 49th District Senator hosted the first annual Senator's Ball in Erie Saturday evening. It was a black tie event at the Ambassador Conference Center Crystal Ballroom. The $100 dollar a plate event was attended by Wiley's family, friends, community leaders and elected officials.
The ball celebrates the beginning of Wiley's career as 49th district senator. He said it also served as a fund raiser to help him continue to get his message out. Wiley spoke briefly at the event, telling those who attended that he is exited about the region's future and the job he's doing in Harrisburg. Wiley told WICU12/SEE News, "It's crunch time, it's time to go to work," on the Governor's budget. Wiley said, "I believe there is going to be a tremendous amount of debate and there's elements of the budget where we're going to need to influence some change in my opinion and we're going to do that."
Since Governor Corbett made his budget address on February 4, Senator Wiley has expressed concern that the spending plan ties education funding to pension reforms and the sale of the state store system.
