With the recent extreme temperature swings potholes are popping out on area streets. After the ice and snow melted from road surfaces over the weekend, Erie Streets Department crews headed out to start filling in those holes.
This time of year, they do what's called cold patching. It's a temporary fix. The Erie area has experienced temperatures as high as the mid 60's and as low as the single digits in the last couple of weeks, swings that are tough on the pavement.
