Less than two weeks after declaring his candidacy for Erie County Executive, a Fairview businessman found himself in court today consenting to a protection from abuse order.
Republican Don Tucci appeared before Judge Stephanie Domitrovich after a woman involved in a more than 20 year relationship with him claimed that he pushed and threatened her.
Consenting to the P.F.A. is not an admission of guilt, but it does mean that Mr. Tucci agrees to stay away from the woman for a period of twelve months.
Tucci also agreed to return a gun belonging to the woman and to make sure any guns he owns are turned over to someone else for safe keeping. The attorney representing Mr. Tucci, John Eppinger, told the court that there are many personal property issues to be resolved between the former couple, but that those issues should not be a problem.
After the hearing, WICU/SEE News asked Mr. Tucci if he will still run for county executive, but he declined to answer that question or make any comment.
