It was a great day for pizza lovers at Gannon University. The school's 5th annual pizza competition was a sell out.
About 150 students and faculty members bought tickets to sample pizza from 7 different local vendors. The companies all donated pizza in exchange for advertising on campus.
The $900 raised goes to the senior class gift. This year it will be a statue of the Gannon Knight that will be unveiled at homecoming weekend in the fall.
Student Government Association President Angela Coustillac said, "It is a 10 foot tall statue of the Gannon Knight. It will be on the inside of the football field so when you first come in you can rub the head for good luck. It is a tradition we are trying to start. We think it will bring a lot more people to the games and really enhance team spirit."
And the results of the voting show Gannon's favorite pizza is Porky's.
