Like many on Tuesday night, Dr. David Kozak, Political Science Professor at Gannon University, and his students watch President Obama set his agenda for this year during the State of the Union Address.
President Obama began his address, talking about bringing our troops home, and the rise of our economy and job creation, all issues weighing heavy on the minds of many.
He also the state of our union is strong, and quoted John F. Kennedy saying that to make it even stronger is takes all of us coming together.
Dr. Kozak and Blake Hockett, a junior political science major at Gannon, seemed to agree that's important for both parties to come together. Dr. Kozak said this is an important and functional night, since it is one of the only times many of the major political figures are together.
Both he and Hockett also commented on the president's opening remarks of the current state of our union being strong.
"Its going in the right direction, but it has a long way to go," said Dr. Kozak. "But he can report that on his first State of the Union as a re-elected president, so I think that's something he wants to crow about."
"I believe so," said Hockett. "I mean we're out of the recession, so we'll see how it goes."
Many people may have that same mind set. Now, its all about waiting to see how things will go now that President Obama has set his agenda for 2013.
