Saturday was the annual prayer breakfast the Erie Chapter of the NAACP.
Members throughout the community gathered at St. James AME Church for the breakfast. This year's theme was "We Have a Dream," honoring 50 years since Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech.
Erie has had a chapter of the NAACP for over 90 years, and for at least the past 20 years have held this breakfast. Chapter President Andre Horton said its all about recognizing those who do great things in the community.
"I think its an opportunity for us to acknowledge some of the work of the people in the community, those who are, often times rolling up their sleeves, but don't get a lot of the credit," said Horton.
Honored at the breakfast for community service were Marcus Atkinson, Bridgette Cotton and Rev. Danny Stanton and his wife, Elaine.
