The works of 25 area photographers were sold at silent auction in an event at BrewErie called "Art with a Heart." It was the first fund raiser for Erie Dawn involving area photographers. Lilly Broadcasting's Paul Gibbens had works up for auction along with other well know local photographers including Paul Lorei and Jeff Urarro.
Event organizers hoped to raise a few thousand dollars for Erie Dawn which provides a two year transitional program to help homeless women get a new start.
Executive Director Maureen Dunn said, "We work with women and their children to get them into apartments and provide supportive services and get them back on their feet to self sufficiency."
Stiletto, an all female vocal group provided the entertainment. Erie Dawn has another benefit planned in the month of May involving local artists. In this event the artists create bird houses for sale.
