VERMILION, Ohio -
While most of northwest Ohio only saw a small fraction of an inch of snow on Saturday, places like Bellevue, Ohio received around 4" to isolated reports of 5" in at least one neighborhood. Additionally, 5" of snow was reported in northeastern Erie County in Vermilion, Ohio. Those impressive snow totals were a result of two bands of lake-effect snow that were tied to Lake Erie. Enough of a thaw occurred in recent days revealing at least a little ice-free water that likely contributed to these lake-effect snow showers. By 10 or 11 AM on Sunday, the final flakes ended.
Meanwhile, in Toledo, the weekend snow total was 0.1" at the Toledo Express Airport, and 0.6" on the east side of the city.
