Several hundred students and some faculty members today participated in Gannon University's 9th annual Wellness Fair at the Waldron Center.
The event including screenings, cooking and exercise demonstrations and even information on alternative medicine. The idea is to encourage a healthy lifestyle early and carry it on through the years.
Gannon University's Michelle Wagner said, "The Wellness Fair is important because the cost of health care is going up and up. And it is important for everybody even our students to recognize that at an early age, what it takes to stay and maintain their health as opposed to waiting until something happens and then dealing with it."
Now because many students at Gannon study nursing, physical therapy and similar programs, many of the screenings for students were done by other students.
