Franklin Firefighters Investigating Tuesday Top Floor Blaze

Posted: Updated:

Franklin, PA - Investigators continue to investigate the cause of a large fire in Venango county.

It happened just after noon on Tuesday, in a 5-story building at 1243 Liberty street, in downtown Franklin. Six fire departments responded. It took firefighters about an hour and a half to get it under control.

Crews at the scene tell us it started on the 5th floor, and they were able to contain most of the damage to that floor. The building houses offices. We're told it was "well occupied" at the time of the fire and everyone got out safely.

The search for the cause is ongoing.
