    Toledo city council president Joe McNamara has announced he will step down as council president.  This comes about a week after he announced he would be running for Mayor of Toledo.  The Democrat said

Toledo City Council did not elect a new council president Tuesday night.

Five rounds of voting were conducted, and three candidates were considered: Republican George Sarantou, Democrat Paula Hicks-Hudson and Democrat Adam Martinez.

None of the candidates got the seven votes needed to be named city council president

The acting council president is currently Democrat Shaun Enright

The council will likely vote again in two weeks for a permanent president
