BERLIN, February 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Kickstarter campaign launched to finance the project

The camera IMAGO1:1 is the largest walk-in camera in the world. Invented and built in the 1970s, in Munich, the IMAGO1:1 is unique. After many journeys and shows it found its final home in 2011 at the Aufbau Haus at Moritzplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg (Germany). The venerable camera would not survive the rigors of yet more journeys.

However, interest and demand both at home and abroad remains strong and unbroken. Everyone wants to show the IMAGO1:1 with its unique lens that was developed specifically for the technique of life-size imaging. This particular type of direct exposure creates inimitable 'light painting' black and white portraits in the format 2ft x 6.6ft. Each photo is an analogue unique copy, because no negative is created in the process.

To react to the incoming inquiries to bring the camera to several places around the world the next step is now being taken - the building of the IMAGOphotour, a mobile version of this unique camera.

For financing the IMAGOphotour a crowdfunding campaign has been launched on Kickstarter. Here the IMAGOphotour project is presented to the world audience. Anyone who is passionate about the idea can already participate in the financing for as little as the equivalent of  $15. In return, project-related rewards in the form of recognition or gifts are earned. For IMAGOphotour these rewards are individual portraits or a logo engraving on the camera and more.

All that is needed to support the IMAGOphotour Kickstarter campaign is an internet connection and a credit card. The IMAGOphotour Kickstarter campaign will run until 21. March 2013.
