Hit and run accident sends woman to the hospital

Fostoria, OHIO (WTVG) -- One woman is in the hospital after getting struck by a vehicle Sunday morning.

Wood County Deputies say the accident happened around 3:00am Sunday on State Route 199 near Pelton Road just north of Fostoria in Perry Township.

Investigators say when they arrived at the scene they found an unresponsive person lying in the roadway.

The female victim was taken to taken to Fostoria City Hospital and later transported via air ambulance to a Toledo area hospital.

A vehicle and the suspect were later located.

The incident remains under investigation.
