City to Release Details of New Police Pact

Mayor Joe Sinnott and the leadership of Erie's police union have scheduled a joint news conference for 2:30 this afternoon.

It's expected that the two sides will discuss an agreement on a new contract that avoids binding arbitration.

It would be the first time in nearly 30 years that a multi-year agreement did not go to arbitration, a process that traditionally favors rank-and-file members over administrations.

We will know more shortly.
