Members of the community on Sunday showed their support for a local woman in need of a transplant.
Friends and family Amanda Demchak held the benefit for her. Back in November, Demchak, a 29-year-old mother of three, started dialysis treatment. She is currently on a waiting list for a kidney transplant.
Friends and family wanted to help with medical bills Demchak has incurred. She says the support has been overwhelming.
"It means a lot," said Demchak. "It makes me want to cry because I didn't realize so many people care about me. You talk to your family everyday, but as far as strangers and friends of the family, you don't think that you have that many people until something like this happens."
If you would like to help Demchak, you can donate to her fund, Amanda's Benefit, at any Citizen's Bank branch.
