People visiting the Erie Zoo Sunday got to do so for free.
It was all part of the fifth annual Bob Sanders Day at the zoo. The zoo opened on Friday and Sunday was also their kick off celebration this weekend.
Employees say families look forward to this day each year, and even with a little snow, a large crowd still came out for the event.
"When the zoo reopens for the season, it means spring is around the corner," said Marketing & Event Coordinator of the Erie Zoo Ainslie Brosig. "People are getting a little bit of cabin fever and its fun to be outside. I've seen kids with snow pants, all bundled up. The community loves their zoo and this is just a great day to see that."
The zoo opens every day now, weather permitting, at 10 AM.
