Monahan & Train Take on Boy Scouts

Posted: Updated:

Erie native Pat Monahan and his bandmates from "Train" are making news, and it's not for one of their hit songs. There's word this morning that Train's looking to put some pressure on the Boy Scouts of America. Train had been scheduled to play at the 2013 National Scout Jamboree this summer. Now, Monahan and his band have decided not to participate in the event. They say it's because of the Scouts' controversial anti-gay policy. Train's posted a statement online, saying they weren't aware of the policy barring openly gay people from joining. The band says it strongly opposes that policy, and they're calling on Boy Scouts of America to "make the right decision." So far, no response from the Boy Scouts.
