Mercyhurst University is trying to set two world records this week. Its called the EnduROWthon, and it's happening this Thursday and Friday on campus.
The men's rowing team is trying to break the world record for greatest distance rowed by a light-weight team in 24-hours. They've also invited the community to take part in breaking another record: the highest number of people rowing on one machine in 24-hours.
Members of the team said something like this, has never been done in the City of Erie before.
"The fact that I can be doing one with my team and also can be involved with the organizing of the secondary one, especially for the University I've been to, the team I row for and the community I've been living in for the last four years is very exciting," said organizer and rowing team member Jake Schuppe.
The 24 hours will start Thursday and 9:00 PM.
