A Saegertown teenager is taking the negative experience of being bullied, and turning it into something positive, while helping others.
Jacob Perrett, 15, said he decided to make a video after being bullied. Now his video has been seen by kids from Florida to Rhode Island, and is even being implemented in anti-bullying programs in schools.
Perrett said he's been making short films for about four years now, and wanted to make one that would make a difference in people's lives.
His movie is called "
Know Hope." He chose to spell it 'know,' so others out there like himself who are going through a rough time with bullying, understand there is hope, and you can overcome it.
Throughout the process, Perrett received help from his friends and family. After he was done, he said this movie not only helped him become a stronger person, but other people as well.
"I got a couple comments saying that your video saved me from taking my own life and you're inspirational figure," said Perrett. "That's one of the best feelings in the world knowing you helped somebody."
Jacob said he's working on another short film right now called "Know Courage." This one's about having the courage to help others when they're in need.
