A local man today pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an accident that claimed the life of a local volunteer fire chief in February 2012.
In a deal with prosecutors, 30 year old Joshua Nickerson pleaded guilty to 3 criminal charges. The counts include aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence of marijuana.
As part of the deal, 13 other counts were withdrawn.
State Police charged Nickerson with driving into oncoming traffic along Route 6-N, killing 49 year old David Flint who was chief of the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department. A passenger in Flint's car, 40-year old Sharon Petri received serious injuries.
