The local Auto Racers for Kids Organization today announced plans for events to help four local charities for children.
Since 2007, the group has donated more than $150,000 to children's charities. And this year, the board has decided to help Safe House, Trinity Center, Kaleidoscope, and Erie County CASA. All the groups focus on children in need.
Mike Langer of Auto Racers for Kids said, "We want the children who are the poorest to receive those donations and so we feel by doing what we are doing not only will we be helping charities now and give them some money. But hopefully more people will hear about that and next time they will think of that charity in their donation."
The group hopes to hold two fundraising events this summer, a golf tournament at Peek n'Peak on July 11, and a special night at Eriez Speedway on July 21.
